Abstract
Pictorial preaching is not a twentieth century phenomenom or the ern theological seminary’s production. It antedates the creative work
of contemporary teachers of homiletics. The Bible contains convincing and inspiring evidence of pictorial preaching. This article focuses on six biblical preachers who excelled in painting verbal pictures. Three proclaimers - Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel - were preaching giants during the Old Testament dispensation. The pictures of the other three - John the Baptist, Jesus the Christ, and John the Prophet - dominate the period of the New Testament.
