Abstract
The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is indigenous to Africa. It is a founding member of the World Council of Churches and the All African Conference of Churches. It occupies a unique position among the Oriental churches, not only because it has the largest membership, but also because it is the only Christian Church in Africa that claims uninterrupted development from God’s revelation to the people of Old Testament times, through the Apostolic Age of the New Testament, and from the patristic times
of the ancient Christian Church to the present.
