Litterātus is a student-edited, multi-disciplinary journal sponsored by the Division of Humanities, Social Sciences, Media & Arts. It features the very best faculty-mentored undergraduate research and creative work accomplished in the HSSMA Division. The peer-review process is managed by the Student Editorial Board (SEB) and the Faculty Advisory Board (FAB), with guidance and logistical support from the HSSMA Dean’s office.
We have expanded the scope to better reflect the longstanding tradition of critical research and creative work at Morehouse College. We are now accepting submissions from undergraduates in the HSSMA Division for the special 26th Edition to be published in Summer 2026.
Litterātus publishes original work only, including scholarly research papers, creative writing and visual and performing arts pieces that are accompanied by an artist statement or project summary addressing influences, process/methodology, technique, and impact. Book reviews are not accepted, unless they are framed as part of a critical review of influential literature on a clearly defined topic. Submissions should not have been published elsewhere. We accept new work in all fields and interpretations in creative fields.
